Policies
Vaccinations
Clips & Collars requires all dogs MUST be up to date on their rabies vaccination and will require proof of vaccination to be kept on file from the clients vet upon booking an appointment.
Cancellations
We send appointment reminders 48 hours in advance, it is the pet owners sole responsibility to remember their appointment. We must be notified at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment of any cancellations. A cancellation fee of 50% of the service will be billed as that spot for the day will most likely not be able to be filled. A deposit may be required to book another appointment. We understand that emergencies and life in general can happen, any cancellations with less than 24 hour notice will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Clips & Collars reserves the right to terminate services for repeat cancellations.
No Shows
We will give the client a 1 hour arrival window for their appointment and an ETA text when we are en route to their address. If the client is not home and is not signed up for latch key service a fee of 50% of the service will be charged to cover for the commute and lost income from that appointment. A deposit may be required to book another appointment. Clips & Collars reserves the right to terminate services for repeat no shows.
Scheduling
Clips & Collars recommends clients to be on a 6-8 week schedule (haircut dogs- 6 weeks or less, bath dogs-8 weeks or less). We recommend scheduling at least 4 appointments ahead or book standing appointments for the year. This will ensure you always have a spot as well as making sure your pet stays on a consistent routine to keep their coat healthy, manageable and mat-free. Please schedule accordingly as it can be difficult to make changes once your appointments are scheduled. Client understands that Clips & Collars reserves the right to fill your space with a new client if you choose not to reschedule after your appointment.
Matted or Neglected Coat
Mats form when a coat is not properly maintained through regular brushing and combing. If mats cannot be safely brushed out a shave down may be required. Extra fees apply based on the severity and time needed. Matting can cause skin irritation, redness, bruising, itching, ear hematomas or temporary behavior changes once removed. Clips & Collars is not liable for any injury or condition that may result from mat removal or shaving. Clients will be informed before a shave down and a mat removal waiver must be signed. If the waiver is declined Clips & Collars Mobile Grooming reserves the right to refuse or terminate service.
Fleas
Clips & Collars does not accept pets with fleas.
Senior Pets and Pre Existing Conditions
Clients MUST disclose all pre-existing conditions your dog has at the time of booking the appointment such as arthritis, allergies, skin conditions, heart or breathing issues etc. Clips & Collars is not liable for any pre-existing injuries or conditions, diagnosed or undiagnosed, which may become aggravated, exacerbated or discovered under our care. This includes but is not limited to, bone injuries, self-inflicted injuries, the state of your pets skin after dematting etc. We will always place your pet’s health and safety first and we will notify you of any complications or issues if discovered. Clips & Collars reserves the right to terminate/ refuse service of any dog we are not comfortable grooming due to the pets health conditions.
Emergencies
In case of a pet emergency, the owner will be contacted immediately. If the owner cannot be reached I will take the pet to the nearest available veterinarian. While every effort is made to ensure pets are groomed safely, the owner assumes responsibility for any medical conditions outside the groomer’s control. Please ensure your phone is accessible during your pet’s appointment in case I need to reach you quickly.
Safety and Behavior
Clips & Collars is a solo run business, due to a small work space and for the safety of the groomer and dogs, Clips & Collars does NOT groom aggressive or combative dogs.
Clients MUST disclose any aggressive behaviors or triggers your pet may have for the safety of the groomer and your pet. Refusal to disclose any of these behaviors can and will result in termination of services. Clips & Collars reserves the right to refuse service to any pet we feel uncomfortable grooming. All pets must be transported to and from the van with a well fitting collar and/or harness and leash.
Customer Satisfaction
To ensure the best service and safety for all pets, the client agrees to report any concerns about the pet(s) grooming within 24 hours of the appointment so we can promptly address it. Grooms reported after 24 hours may not be eligible for adjustments or corrections.
