FAQs:

What should I expect on appointment day? 

When booking you will be given a 1 hour appointment window (ex. 11-12 am) meaning you can expect us anytime within that time frame. We will send you an ETA text when we are en route to your address. Please make sure your driveway or wherever you will have us park is clear and ready for the van (we will not move the van once it is parked). At arrival, we’ll review your grooming requests, I’ll then take your pet to the van. When finished, you’ll receive a text, we’ll check out and that’s it until next time! 

What form of payments do you accept? 

We accept all major credit cards, cash, Venmo, Apple Pay and Zelle. No checks please. 

How much will it cost? 

The cost will vary depending on the size of the dog, coat type, coat condition, temperament etc. Mobile grooming is a luxury service because we bring the salon right to your door. Our fully equipped van requires higher operating costs (van purchase, maintenance, fuel, insurance etc.) but those costs allow us to provide you and your pet with unmatched convenience and care. Unlike busy salons, mobile grooming is one-on-one. Your pet receives personalized attention start to finish. No cages, a low stress environment tailored to your pets needs. It’s also convenient for you, no driving, pick up or drop off! When you choose mobile you’re investing in a calmer, more personal experience for your pet–and peace of mind for you! 

Do you need to hook into my water or electricity? 

Nope! Our state of the art electric/solar battery powered van is equipped with a clean power system that provides everything we need. It’s quiet, clean and eco-friendly– no noisy generators or cords! 

What if I can’t be home for the appointment? 

No problem! We offer latch-key service! This service is available only after your first two appointments with you being home. If this is something you are interested in please contact us for more information or ask about latch key at your next appointment! 

Can I stay and watch? 

Due to liability and insurance reasons, we do not allow pet parents to stay and watch. Pets also tend to get very excited around their parents and that can make it difficult and unsafe to groom. 

Do I need to commit to a schedule? 

Clips & Collars recommends clients to be on a 6-8 week schedule (haircut dogs- 6 weeks or less, bath dogs-8 weeks or less) to help keep your pets coat in the best condition and to allow us to provide the best and most efficient service at every appointment. This also ensures you always have a spot secured. We recommend scheduling at least 4 appointments ahead or make standing appointments for the entire year. Please schedule accordingly as it can be hard to make changes once booked. If you choose not to reschedule after your appointment your slot may be filled with a new client. 

When should my puppy start getting groomed? 

The earlier the better! Once your puppy has had at least one set of shots we recommend starting grooming by at least 12 weeks. We don’t offer haircuts on a puppy’s first visit as it can be very overwhelming. We will provide a full bath and a little face, feet and fanny trim to help get your puppy acclimated to the grooming process. 

Will the weather affect my appointment? 

We monitor the weather daily. In the event of severe weather (strong storms, heavy wind/rain, heavy snow/ice or poor driving conditions) we may need to reschedule your appointment. If bad weather moves in during the appointment we will only continue if it is safe to do so. Any interrupted or cancelled appointments will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
